About me
I'm a graduate of the New Zealand Radio Training School in Manukau, Auckland. I grew up loving video games, my obsession started on a DSI and spiralled into love when I got Pokemon Heart gold. Throughout the years I've picked up more games and interests that led me into the person I am today. Unsupervised!
Everyone has that phase in high school where you need to think about what you want to do. I always knew I talked a lot, and I was pretty good at having an entertaining conversation while still being reasonably appropriate. Something with that skillset was desirable and I had always wanted to try content creation. It's the dream of playing video games for a living, but I knew that it was so unpredictable and you need to be lucky, so I was content with playing video games as a hobby.
On one drive to school, I asked my Mum what I should do for a career. We were listening to our favourite radio station, ZM and one of the hosts, Vaughn was having a hilarious time, talking about a competition and some ridiculous events that could happen. All on-air for thousands to hear. My Mum responded, “You could do what Vaughn does”.
So here I am 5 years later, with a Diploma in Broadcasting and Radio. Now wanting to get on air and be a radio host, but I have more appreciation for the industry and am interested in so much more. Promotions seem just as fun and a great experience to get out there and interact with people. I'm also enjoying voice acting for ads as great practice and lets me explore it creatively, reading news bulletins is something we did a lot at the school, and Podcasting has been such a blast with chatting with my friends and also adding my touch with editing.
That's about me! I am a hardworking person that once I find something I love and enjoy, I won't hate a day of it. Hopefully, you'll hear me when I'm on air.
